GLADEL Lupus

GLADEL is a Latin American initiative, launched and led by local rheumatologists in 1997, with the purpose of:

  • Conducting multicenter studies in Latin American patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

  • Promoting projects aimed at increasing knowledge of SLE and its consequences for patients, physicians, and the community in Latin America.

GLADEL is an international group made up of experts in the field of SLE, including more than 50 rheumatology research centers located in major cities across more than 12 Latin American countries.

The philosophy of the group is inclusive, enthusiastic, and oriented toward the incorporation of new centers and countries within Latin America, as new projects emerge in line with the stated objectives. Decisions are always made by consensus among equals.
